- 60% of French students considered education their top priority compared to 74% of Scottish students
- 45% of French students have decided to either go to college or university after high school compared to 80% of Scottish students
- 64% of French students believed university was beneficial for personal growth compared to 89% of Scottish students
- When inquired about finding a subject difficult, 41% of the French students chose the option that implied a growth mindset compared to t 92% of Scottish students.
- 60% of French students implied a growth mindset when asked about how they cope in terms of hardship in a subject compared to 66% of Scottish students
The conclusions that can be drawn from this research are
- That Scottish students put more of an emphasis on education (especially higher and further education) and more students consider it a priority. While French students recognise that there are more pathways available for them and that school is not the only necessary priority.
- On average, Scottish students signify more of a growth mindset than French students when it comes to failure. However, around the same percentage of French and Scottish students indicate a growth mindset when it comes to hardships within a subject.
- On average, more Scottish students find university to be beneficial for personal growth than French students.
